Trashed TV Live (the North's music world is smashing it)
Trashed TV Live launches with a select launch line up that feels like a celebration of no ordinary music city's heritage. Denise Johnson, Liines, The Vryll Society and Saytr Play make up the all acclaimed guests for the show which is hosted by Meredith Peterson (Off The Record, Kendal Calling) and Gary Drury of the rock band, Our Fold.

With excellent view points for the audience of both the live stage and interview stage, it's all about enjoyment. WHAT a statement of intent first bill - all deserving of focused attention:
Denise Johnson (image by Sal Gig Junkie) is Lady Manchester. A magic voice in her own right, additionally allied to a myriad of fellow legends.
Liines were a huge new favourite with TheZineUK at Off The Record 2017 (again this summer, playing for John Kennedy of Radio X).
Their debut album 'Stop Start' is kicking up a storm in all the right places.
The Vryll Society are a stimulating alternative whose mesmerising 'Course Of The Satellite' is BBC Radio 1's album of the week at time of writing.
Faces about town, Saytr Play have their reputation in ascendency (and about to launch new single 'Fragile' at Manchester Star & Garter). Proving a consistent festival favourite, too.
With an impressive back story, Our Fold are even busier with new single 'Don't You Want A Lover?' being played by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music. Gary Drury, especially so, as co presenter with Meredith Peters, Operations Manager of From The Fields events.
I briefly met a nice lady, Wendy, from Manchester Creative Community last year. She's definitely on to something. Expect to see some familiar faces in the crowd. Trashed TV Live underlines the North of England as an entertainment power house.
I'm writing this in London but I find the North more cohesive, compact, connected with events, multi media, education and potential.

The nation's alt rock magazine, Louder Than War, alongside rising media like Future Nation Sounds, new fave spaces like Jimmy's, heritage music industry (i.e. SJM), labels, art, a wealth of photographers plus the forthcoming Beatstream, app launch - just for starters. Manchester is a genre clash blessed with multi venue festivals/conferences (like Neighbourhood and Off The Record).
The industrial revolution went from the North of England to the globe. It wasn't Eton toffs etc, it was clever people in necessity. A new music TV show, in a city blessed with much radio, helps showcase "brand Rocking Britain". Maybe we could fight for the future with faith in Fun?
