The Blinders - 6 Music Radio session, plus new dates.

The Blinders are playing a session at BBC's hallowed Maida Vale Studios, they also have a growing number of live appearances confirmed for this summer.

The underground is being found; The Blinders are also currently No.1 on Amazing Radio's charts with new single, 'Gotta Get Through'.

It's a statement, performed.

It's a taste of their debut album for ModernSkyUK, who they signed with in Autumn.

The band spent winter with the Wizard of Wolverhampton at his Magic Garden Studios. Producer, Gavin Monaghan, continues to bring out the planet straddling aspect of their musical aspirations.

Following February's myth making mayhem of a headline tour (our music editor, Dizzy Spell, interviewed the band in a broom cupboard at one show), plus airplay across the nation's radio shows (also a clip of DIY single, 'Brave New World', on TV ads), a live session for BBC Radio 6 Music, with a name many music fans have grown up with, is another landmark for this power of three.

The live session at the BBC's famed Maida Vale Studios, will be broadcast on Steve Lamacq's show (4-7pm) on Wednesday 25th April. New single, ‘Gotta Get Through’, was featured on his 6 Music Recommends show, alongside an interview with the band recently.

No lie, there's excitement at TheZineUK to hear this session, also to catch a(nother) live experience. The Blinders supported Courteeners' sold out April Sheffield gig, and headline their own shows in June:

Wednesday 6th London Borderline, Soho

Friday 8th Manchester Gorilla, biggest headline to date

14+ events - remaining tickets (going); http://gigst.rs/Blnd

2018 needs this band.

Bad mad old twats are killing people and planet for money lust (a.k.a. "Government").

Our own story of escapism just wouldn't be the same without The Blinders. They come with that intergalactic, and organically evolving, punkadelic culture. It's infectious

Another band's manager, grinning like a teen at one of their shows, described The Blinders as "Kids doing The Doors doing Metallica". There are around 66 comparisons (including Arctic Monkeys and punk's answer to The Cheeky Girls) gaining momentum. Does this band have the musicality though? Hear them play.

As there is no typical Blinders fan or cool clique, this is youth powered alternative classic rock attracting insiders and outsiders of every generation.

Influenced by literature and beat culture, The Blinders entice fun lovers, hopers and no hopers to their theatre of performance. They come with an extending collective of artistic, musical peers of all kinds. Take Sam Crowston (Nasty Man Creations) of their crew, telling a story through impressive still and moving imagery from behind the scenes. All the pictures on this news story, included. This was last summer at Manchester Ritz supporting CABBAGE. It's a live show increasingly witnessed via word of mouth/mouse.

The band's co-manager, Tim Abbot (Executive Producer of 'Gotta Get Through' video) is the creative genius behind the marketing of Creation Records. If you've heard of Oasis, Super Furry Animals, Primal Scream etc., then welcome to a glimpse of future potential.

The creators that The Blinders bring with them include photographers, writers, film makers. Just find the documentarians from this band's story so far and welcome to a parallel dimension that is exploding in the small venues of Britain like a silent movie of a nuclear bomb right now. Check them out before the next one drops it's off the scale amazing.

Don't take our word for it, even though we keep saying it. Official business body, UK Music has also confirmed that things are looking the best for music since the 1990s Britpop heyday. Bands were allowed on day time telly and all sorts in ye olden days. Now its time to make something new and hope that youth are allowed to have their day this time round too. All the ace newer wave of media, music and mischief makers, included.

So yeah. It's exciting that The Blinders are deservedly coming to wider attention. Sure, most people haven't heard of them. But hey... Escapists of the 99% who get it, are fused to this musical potency. The End Of Days has a suitably anthemic soundtrack from a rock band for the many, not the few.

Psst; tell your guitar band loving friends to tune in on 25th April
