Episode 2 (of 4 for 2017) has, again, attracted national press stories (and even made Greggs an iconic brand of rock n roll tour food!). The most essential ingredient remains the artists and audiences (including a crowd packed with artists and key music mover shakers of the near future). Presented by Red Stripe, and hosted by Gordon Smart of Radio X, This Feeling TV has proved an instant hit in a sheeranful age, starved of edgy ENTERTAINMENT. Sometimes the closest the dumbed down world can come to an edge, is believing that the planet is flat, and that the Now That's What I Call Music compilations have ever been truly "now".
An interactive treat (you can also click through to videos of full live sets) for people who are enjoying "the best music scene in the world right now". That is an observation made recently by a rock n roll loving, USA based taste maker. Promoters that book this new music, support this nation's small venues, still sadly under threat. As one of the key names, This Feeling presents monthly shows nationwide and has a growing number of alumni that have graced their stages, including The Slow Readers Club, Blossoms, CABBAGE and now the artists featured on and in this show.

Outstanding, as in standing out, the atmosphere is respectful of the artists being the stars, and informal, as only music's passionate heart can be. This instant classic was filmed, again, at one of the above mentioned essential venues, Nambucca in North London.
Pre doors, thronged outside are a mini festival's worth of bright young things, fans and guests lucky enough to have tickets. As soon as the doors open, the venue is packed to and ready for the first live set.
Cheers! and cheerful. Thank you for the hospitality, Red Stripe
Speaking from TheZineUK's experience, these gigs are the real buzz bands booked deal. Performances, at more corporate recordings than this, can be so formal that they feel like a tea dance at the dentists. Some even have "cheer now" signs. This translates to something sterile in broadcast that you can't quite put your finger on. In contrast, these are real gigs. Excitement crackles like electricity and before ya know it, stage diving has broken out! And why not? We're in a key London venue, during a time when the underground guitar band scene is the best in decades, it's business as normal for the crowd - i.e., what a time to be alive!
Ready to rock...
Episode 2 includes a range of segments, including a Q&A with Luke Pritchard of The Kooks, a one-on-one interview with legendary music photographer, Mick Rock, plus the regular show feature, ‘The TV Chuck competition’, where guests battle it out to be crowned king or queen of the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll pursuit. When almost behaving, guests are on the sofa in conversation. Empathy with people who support artistic talent, brings out the stories that other interviews can't reach. Watch This Feeling TV for your fix of rock biz tales. The latest includes additionally includes Black Grape and John McClure of Reverend and The Makers, the latter interview - including some unsavoury memories for Calvin Harris - grabbing headlines the day after the show went public.

Essex's Rat Boy - who will grace the Main Stage of Reading and Leeds Festival, and who got a surprise feature on Kendrick Lamar’s latest LP, among a myriad of happening events pumping his story at the moment - is live on stage and lively in conversation on the sofa about his album 'Scum'. Set to be released two days later on August 11th, ‘Scum’ finds RAT BOY – aka Jordan Cardy – exploring relatable themes of his and his friends’ experiences growing up disillusioned in suburban Essex. While the album is united by such concepts, musically RAT BOY jumps at will between hip-hop, punk, indie anthems, gospel, big beat and bossa nova like the Beastie Boys for the Brexit generation.

Guests are of a credible calibre, and - also heading for Reading Festival - Sundara Karma (who headlined the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury in June) and the formidable sex-blues force of nature, Bang Bang Romeo. They all take part in TF TV's regular fun and games including top model, famed music fanatic, Peter Crouch's partner and mum-to-be, while filming, Abbey Clancy.
Abbey's pregnancy craving revelations in her interview made various national newspapers with her bakery confessions. Showbiz editors keep a keen eye and ear on this show. In the show, she admits “It has to be Greggs – two sausage rolls and a cheese pasty. It’s the baby that wants it, not me. I went for my ultrasound recently and they found crumbs on my belly!”. (A week later, there is a handy map of Greggs branches on line).
Currently pregnant with the couple’s third child together, Abbey – normally a regular gig-goer – detailed how the news has curtailed her near future plans: “I’m designated driver now and I can’t really last. We had a weekend planned for Reading (Festival), but Pete’s ruined it all now with his football match being on the Sunday… and by getting me pregnant!”
Among those in attendance on the night was her partner, former England footballer Peter Crouch, who is fresh from securing his first ever radio DJ slot, after it was announced he would be covering host, Gordon Smart’s regular evening show on Radio X in the coming weeks.

Regular listeners of Gordon’s show may have some cause for concern however, after Abbey tells all about her husband’s questionable music selection when he got behind the decks at the wedding of Kasabian front man (and This Feeling fan) Serge Pizzorno recently: “Peter ended up having a go at DJ-ing towards the end of the night, and cleared the floor with some of his choices – Phil Collins was definitely on the playlist, as was a bit of Jimmy Nail.” (To be fair, Crouchy has proved an instant hit with music fans, he knows his up and coming best new bands, social media have taken his Radio X choices to their hearts)
An avid music fan herself, Abbey goes on to discuss her passion for also giving upcoming bands a leg-up when it comes to cracking the industry, beginning with Catfish and the Bottlemen, who she previously managed to secure a spot on tour with The View, when the Welsh outfit were starting out several years ago. “I just love my bands. It breaks my heart when you hear so much crap on the radio and you have these talented kids that are just wasted, as no one sees or hears them.” She continues: “Me and Pete always try and use any contacts or celebrity we have to try and help them out, which gives me great pleasure”, prior to touting Paris Youth Foundation and Wildfront as her next tips to make it big.

As it's momentum takes hold, This Feeling TV is pure entertainment for the digital age that maintains the unique charm and quirkiness of music TV's analogue heyday. The first show launched this summer to much fanfare, and an array of appreciative feedback. The second has already raised the game. Even the bands in the crowd have swelled their reputation. Uniting fans on and off line, the show is the brainchild of This Feeling founder, Mikey Jonns, and an almighty craving from Red Stripe, to inject a huge dose of excitement into the independent, guitar bands music scene. With two more shows left to be filmed this year, the programme is expected to continue picking up real momentum throughout 2017, leading to even more frequent shows in 2018 ,and onwards.
