NAALA - debut single 'Splintered Window' and live launch show.
NAALA celebrates her atmospheric debut single:‘Splintered Window’ (November 17th) with a launch show at Archspace in East London ten days later.
Word has been out about her exquisitely executed experimental fusion of electronica and elemental sounds, heritages, centuries and beats, overlaid with a crystal clear vocal.
With a myriad of colourful Ghanaian traditions, Londoner, NAALA learnt that the function of music and dance meant much more than just a means to celebrate.
It also imparts knowledge; stories and life lessons.
NAALA likes to think of her work as ‘music for sharpening the mind and blurring the senses’. Into this mix come French horns, traditional African drums and an adventures of sounds.
Last year, an early reputation for an engaging feel of intimacy at her live appearances, won a landmark gig at Sofar London.
2017 has continued leading to this next chapter of a story-teller's story. Recent shows include supporting Hot Chip for Amnesty International's 'Give A Home' event, and a sold out gig at Servant Jazz Quarters.
A new twist to R'n'B that is as DIY as it gets, from composition to recording, arranging and production. In short, NAALA is a wonderfully soulful musical kaleidoscope for our time, as 'Splintered Window' demonstrates.
300 x signed 7" clear vinyl will be available at the launch on 27th November. Tickets for the show are available from metropolismusic.com/artists/naala/
psst; A couple of years ago I was knocked out by an acapella quintet, The Boxettes, playing with Izzy Bizu at Under The Bridge in Chelsea. THAT Naala? Wow.
