Leeds Festival - music iconography by Tarquin Clark
Leeds and Reading Festival annually adds to music history as the ever expanding galaxy of genres unite for a weekend rock n roll lifestyles. We are blessed to have top visual documentarian, Tarquin Clark, with TheZineUK.
Tarquin has captured many iconic rock star shots at all levels of fame/infamy and his name appears in association with many music history worthy moments. Fun pushers, MOSES (above on the BBC Introducing Stage) are personal favourites at TheZineUK. They hit the unsuspecting public last September with 'Leave Leave Leave' and have entertained their way to increasing appreciation, they and are always an arousing prospect.
The August band holiday weekend looks like the prologue to an out of this world 2018. Take Black Honey (above on the Festival Republic Stage) who have also had the kind of year that they probably couldn't have dreamed of, even though they were already coming on strong in 2016.
In fact, with so much negativity in the news, all these artists provided a parallel dimension for thousands of people to escape to. Above, Danny Brown on the Radio1Xtra stage. Without ado, please scroll down for more;
All images are credited (c) Tarquin Clark (please, just in case anybody uses them). This is a taster of his Leeds Festival photography report which is in full with his own words at instagram.com/tarquinclark - beautifully done, thank you so much. Appreciation galore, as ever, to The Zeitgeist Agency for sorting out our ongoing story of music movement, with accreditation.

Arcane Roots, The Pit/The Lock Up, the band of equipment. Wow.
This "landmark gig" weekend really does still feel like a convention for artists, crews, audiences, media and industry. It's what sets up then next chapters at end/start of year through reputations made. Extra kudos to Festival Republic for the ReBalance programme announced a few weeks before this event, to address gender balance in the music industry. When TheZineUK started our #SheRocksFests chapter at the start of July, we could never have guessed at such good news. This article is being uploaded a day after Loud Women's sold out, second LoudWomenFest and scrolling through Tarquin's photos, I see images of female empowerment. A republic of festivals, now there's a reality coming increasingly into focus.
So many stages/gigs, all at Reading/Leeds Festival sure used up a load of energy.
