The Kumari - debut album, Summer London gigs

The Kumari

Why?

Cos you need to rattle the cage once in a while...

The Kumari are a high energy London trio with their roots in Essex. They come ready loaded with five critically acclaimed singles/45s (on international independent labels) under their belts.

If you like your psyche garage rock served up straight, fuzzy, hard and fast in places, with more melodic tenderness in others, then this is the band for you.

Their eponymous debut album is littered with absolute belters. Out now, it will appease your mind like a hit of mescaline and a nice cuddle with words.

Catching them live will rattle your brain around inside your skull like a pinball and see you leave in a much healthier state of mind than when you arrived. Call it a cleansing;

London :

13th July, Nambucca (Psyche Rock n Roll night) N7

30th August New Cross Inn SE14

15th September Paper Dress Vintage, E2.

The Kumari are recommended viewing.

Heaped with praise via Rough Trade, they've been played by the likes of Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6 Music Radio show and already generate highly impressed superlatives from taste maker music press.

A video taster; 'Space Witch'.

A bright future looks to be on the cards for Claude (vocals) Scott (Bass) and Hughsie (drums, percussion and repercussions), currently working on their second album. With rumours of an upcoming tour on the not too distant horizon, stay tuned here:
