Hands Off Gretel 'Kiss Me Girl' Single, Video, Tour
In these days of bland baddies as world mis-leaders you can never have too many glamtastic punx. Hell yeah, then for Hands Off Gretel and their spanking new single 'Kiss Me Girl'. It probably won't get them many invitations to play children's parties, if the video is anything to go by, but it's femme powered, noisy-sex rock to scream along to on tour (scroll down) this Autumn. A sparky taster of an even busier 2019.
The freshly uploaded, 'Kiss Me Girl' video.
Fronted by scream-queen, Lauren Tate, Hands Off Gretel strut a cheeky, sugar-coated mix of heavy garage rock, grunge, and noise pop influenced by No Doubt, Nirvana and PJ Harvey. Lauren, Sean Bon (guitar) Sam Hobbins (drums) and Becky Baldwin (bass) formed the South Yorkshire band in 2015. Pulsing new wave songs for our times, powerfully and colourfully. it's not taken long for them to gain attention.
In 2016, tracks from their debut album were picked up for radio play by Kerrang!, Team Rock AND BBC Introducing. Last year they played over sixty gigs, major festivals (Download, Isle Of Wight and Rebellion included) plus their first European dates.
Hands Off Gretel have amazing reviews and feedback.
This includes being described as "One of the most exciting new bands" by USA's mighty Alternative Press and as 'the best Alternative Rock band to come out of the UK in years' by Britain's key alternative music magazine, Louder Than War.
By Autumn 2018, they have also recorded their second album at Monnow Valley Studio in Wales.
With a plethora of video views already, then following this summer of festivals, next year should see their rapid ascendency continue with the new LP.
'Kiss Me Girl' - premiered by BBC Introducing Sheffield in UK, and legendary Rodney On The Rock in USA - kicks things off.
