Bang Bang Romeo - Electric Ballroom double!

I was really happy to bump into Anastasia lead singer of Bang Bang Romeo at the back door of the Electric Ballroom in Camden. It was while I was waiting to interview The Struts that this rock n roll goddess appeared with a beaming smile and a very big hug for me. She informed me Bang Bang Romeo were supporting The Struts and was quite happy for us to interview the band. It's these spontaenous moments that we live for at The Zine!

Bang Bang Romeo are one of my favourite bands that I have met so far, they make you feel you’re part of the family (that proper northern warmth!). They have been writing and playing for six years now. Along with Anastasia are guitarist and songwriter Ross Cameron, Richard Gartland on drums and Ray Loverock on bass. This 4 piece band have emerged from the Sheffield scene and are heading for success at a very rapid rate all over the UK. They've just released new single ‘Natural Born Astronaut’ , which has already been named track of the week by XFM's Gordon Smart and been featured on both Virgin Radio and BBC Music London. The Thunder Clap campaign to promote the single reached a whooping 726,411 people! It's tagline stating that backers would be able to look back in a years time and know they were at the beginning of something amazing and that's no boast.

So my impressions of the Electric Ballroom gig? Anastasia is a power house of vocal talent that takes the reign of every stage performance. Gutsy, charismatic and mesmerising she holds the torch for originality, girl power and defiance. They are totally flawless. Each band member brings their tightness and sophistication to form a gobsmacking, out of this world experience hence demonstrating why they are on their way to bigger and even better things. Stomping rock with feverish Janis Joplin tones that crack out a fearsome and not to be reckoned with sound bring it on BANG BANG ROMEO! They returned to The Electric Ballroom on the London leg of THIS FEELING ALIVE TOUR, and totally smashed it with an obviously large following in the packed out crowd.

Fall in love & listen to Natural Born Astronaut here!
