LITTLE GRIM (Headline)
South London alt-rock outfit who mingle chilling, harrowing lyrics and soaring vocals with slick hip-hop beats. The result is music you can dance and cry to, preferably at the same time.
#FuturePicks : This video, 'Hoodie', is superb
THE PAISLEY DAZE
Born in North London, raised in Hong Kong, and being of Punjabi origin, brothers Kish and Peefs Daze are timelessly groovy young dudes who push boundaries of genre with the goal of making people dance to sweet soulful music for the mind, body and spirit. Listen On Spotify.
MATHILDE BATAILLE
A French musician whose music derives from introspective everyday experiences and social reflections. Accompanied by music inspired by the likes of Jeff Buckley, Patti Smith, Jimi Hendrix and the French chanson, her cathartic sets are a testament to her passion and intent to connect with others. Listen On Spotify.
FUNERAL FOR BIRD
Blending atmospheric, folky dream pop with soulful electronica, London based Funeral For Bird create an engaging and moving live show that swirls and bubbles as it goes along. Originally the solo project of 19-year old Joe Futak, Funeral For Bird has since expanded into a full band. Their third album was released in the summer of 2017 to positive acclaim. Listen On Soundcloud.
Thursay 19th July, NX, #SELondon
It's at ArtBeat central, the Amersham Arms, it's gonna be ace.
A fave hangout for TheZineUK travelling circus.
Pic is from the ArtBeat events (where TheZineUK was born) launch. DJs Jean Genie of Rocklands ArtBeat and Dave GigSlutz (who had just broadcast a radio show from The Old Police Station into the venue).
Amersham Arms is the best place for experimental audiovisual adventures.
Hey, TheZineUK and GigSlutz united again on the eflyer for this event. What's not to love? Live music and DJs party in the backstage bar (front bar - real ales and craft beer bar included - is open all afternoon for early summery shenanigans)
LOVE the Take Courage Gallery upstairs, for the art exhibitions and more, plus there's the (also art inspired) the outside smoking areas (including a rooftop bar!)
It's a hubba hubba of a creative hub, and remains one of London's key (and most) happening venues! Managed by a musician, of course it's special! theamershamarms.net/ 388 New Cross Road, London SE14 6TY.
