Access All AA - Great Britain sings along.

"Music Makes The Journey Fly By".

Big Wheels Keep On Turning.

With so much Beat and Counterculture in TheZineUK's tales, we are all On The Road, some more than others. Getting there is everything.

Hurray for a service that pays homage to music (in this case, 'Proud Mary' by Tina Turner) on their TV and is often an unsung hero of why so many events go ahead - The AA!

24/7, musicians and crews and travel nationwide to entertain. We audiences, also. What a huge soundtrack the pop culture years have given us.

A new survey by The AA reveals that the number one car sing-along car is 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen, (as immortalised by the movie 'Wayne's World') with rock and pop uniting the nation as the all-time favourite genres for the road. 95% of those interviewed said that "music makes the journey fly by".

The AA is the UK’s favourite breakdown service and a range of handy motoring services essential to the nation's next wave of anthem makers, quite a lot of whom are in this story.

As an addition to the nation's Top 25 Sing Along Songs of all time (scroll down!) We grabbed two of home grown, fast rising prospects, Sisteray, SONS and Bang Bang Romeo (AA users) to ask for their on-tour sing along choices.

Bang Bang Romeo, completed around one hundred UK live shows last year, not including a plethora of acoustic sessions. The hard work is paying off and they are about to hit the USA, before exploding all over the best music festivals this summer. The AA recently rescued the band just outside Sheffield, helping them achieve another show. Their label, Zy Records, are also with the nation's No.1 extra emergency service, and admit, "The AA have helped us lots".

At TheZineUK we love that this is a band likely to burst into song, wherever, whenever, so we asked for their current road trip songs; "We have a running spotify playlist of tunes that we love on the road which we update every few weeks" Click here for the full 'Holy Preaching Nectar' list which includes The Slow Readers Club, Anteros, The Wholls Muse, SHEAFS and Satyr Play.

Nominated as one of Live Nations Best Live Acts of 2018, as well as having their music described as "Searing and soulful blues tinged Rock 'n' Roll" by NME and “…like a Tarantino soundtrack” by Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1, Bang Bang Romeo are not short of their anthems, please do add 'Chemical' to your best new sing along finds (and yes, that is Game Of Thrones star and BBR fan, Ralph Ineson, in the video).

Another rising name from this story, deadly dynamite duo, SONS have got some huge driving tunes of their own, let alone this ace playlist! Brothers, left to right, Lee (guitar, vocals) and Nick (drums, bvs) Meldrum are one of the #BigIn2018 tips and hitting a variety of festivals this summer. Just saw them bring a mosh-fest to the East End with their hard hitting and hooky TUNES. Fans had travelled from as far as Brighton to be there. Consider yourselves tipped. A massive anthem for right now; click to hear 'Rise'! (Hey, Download Festival, over to you for 2018/2019)

Newer Wave Punks, musical activists of positivity and Alternative Chart stars, Sisteray are another hard working, hard rocking outfit amassing a growing following across the land. When they're not touring, recording or staging their own (packed out) events, they're usually found at another band's show, supporting new music

Sisteray (who met in a Libertines mosh pit, but now have this happening at their own gigs) have an awesome and eclectic road trip playlist. (We might have to hitch a lift with them to a show some time, just for these);

485c - Strange Medicine

The Blinders - Brave New World

Berries - Those Funny Things

Sheafs - This Is Not A Protest

Iggy pop - Nightclubbing

Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere

Kendrick Lamar - Humble

The Clash - Spanish Bombs

Dead Kennedy’s - Nazi Punks Fuck Off

Frank Ocean - Nikes

Blondie - Atomic

Choosing one of the band's own anthems was done for us by The AA when Londoners, Sisteray, were on their way to a Manchester headline show. There must be SO many music lovers in the AA, listening to their own playlists as they help us get back to ours.

So, in that case, another great sing along - 'White Knuckle Joyride' - for your rock and roll pleasure.

BTW, that image is by our own Sandy K. Moz and was taken at last year's Camden Rocks Festival. Sisteray's gig was such a sensation that have been invited back to this year's event on June 2nd.

Maybe in ten years, some of the above mentioned bands will be in the update of the nation's favourites.

"We are a nation that makes a song and dance about everything." (Music Tourist Board). Road trips create special moments. Drivers are so keen to not miss a beat that nearly half have driven past their destination so that they can carry on listening to their favourite tunes. Cheryl Calverley, Marketing Director at the AA, comments: “Our research has shown that we’re more likely to sing in the car than anywhere else, with group sing-a-longs forming special memories..."
