Pirate Prodigy 2018 Winners tour 7-9 June

ALEX OHM, YVES, RED RUM CLUB, and THE SEAMONSTERS

are the very first Pirate Prodigy!

This highly prized music support competition is off to a strong start with 50,000 public votes and twenty industry experts choosing this year's four winners. “I’m so excited to be a part of this. What Pirate Studios are doing for the music scene is the most supportive/coolest thing I’ve seen in years! Get involved.” says Brit/NME Awards Winner, Kate Nash.

The winners had already worked hard to build a genuine grass roots upwards buzz. Six piece teen girl band, Sea Monsters from Sheffield, Swindon new wave trio; YVES, Al Ohm a primary school teacher from Gornal in the West Midlands and Merseyside six piece, Red Rum Club, start a new chapter in their individual tales.

Fair play to all the artists and music fans that participated, and extra congratulations to all four winners who were announced by presenter, Gordon Smart on Radio X. They will receive a team of expert industry mentors, unlimited rehearsal and recording time, plus festival stages including this year’s Isle of Wight.

The project is steered by a team of industry mentors including artist managers, agents, promoters, publishers, PR and radio experts aiming to support new British talent. This includes chart hit-makers Jon McClure (Reverend & the Makers), the previously mentioned Kate Nash, and the teams behind Liam Gallagher, Charli XCX and The Libertines.

What makes the Pirate Prodigy programme different is Pirate Studios’ ethos of being on the artist’s side, waiving the rights to any ownership of the winners and their material.

Together with the team of all-star industry mentors they will be concentrating on accelerating the careers of the 4 winners over the next 12 months, starting with featured slots at this year’s Isle of Wight festival.

"Pirate Studios - Re-inventing Music Studios"

In just 14 days, 35,000 fans voted for their favourite acts from a short-list of 30 which was whittled down from 2,000+ entries. 10 acts made it through to the final round for their chance to win everything they need to break in 2018. Then the final 4; YVES, Red Rum Club, Alex Ohm and pictured below Seamonsters.

Pirate Studios operates 200 studios across 17 UK locations. As the network of studios has grown, a thriving Pirate community of 25,000 bands, musicians and DJs has flourished, all utilising an innovative self-service model.

Was it really just over a year ago that the Pirate Sessions launched them into the hearts and minds of Britain's music fans? As per quite a few of the newer wave music industry in TheZineUK's tale, this is a rapid expansion. In 2018 Pirate Studios will launch another 10 UK locations, as well as move into Germany and the USA. https://www.piratestudios.co.uk
