The Return of Towers of London

Cast your minds back to 2007, Amy Winehouse was playing the Camden Crawl, Kate Moss was engaged to Peter Doherty, the NME was thriving, the Arctic Monkeys still had long hair… It was the height of the noughties indie scene; the raw, gritty and gifted were headed down to London to make their fortune, to fall in love, and to party like there was no tomorrow.

...And in the midst of this scene stood a band called Towers of London. Controversial and talented, the band made headlines through their rock-umentary TV show, lead singer Donny Tourette’s antics on music-comedy program Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and their reckless gigs that leaded to convictions in criminal damage.

During their time active they released two albums, Blood Sweat and Towers, and Fizzy Pop, their own twist on the angsty punk sound that was coming out of London, the anthem of a Camden night out....

Then just like that they were gone.

But now, 10 years down the road, the boys are back. Since been taken under the wing of Alan McGee (manager to Oasis, The Libertines, Primal Scream), and Creation Management, Towers of London have announced an upcoming album, The Super Sounds of K-Town, a set at Camden Rocks festival and have released two singles, most recently ‘Send in the Roses.’

The opening up-beat guitar rifts will take you straight back to the awkward school discos, the indie clubs, and the nights out drinking with your mates. Send in the Roses is a catchy anthem, that will make you smile, make you want to dance, and will make you want to hit play again the second the song has finished.

Whilst they still remain musical marmite, the rough edges of the original Towers of London have been sanded down and instead this new song welcomes back their fans with smooth sounds and clever lyrics, while still acknowledging their past but making way for their future in music.
