The Blinders 'Gotta Get Through' single review

I won't waffle with an introduction, as (for those in the know) The Blinders are more than familiar even with those that have yet to hear them live. Actually anyone who has to ask what their gigs are like have definitely not seen them live and should buy a ticket now.

Their latest single 'Gotta Get Through' is a sneak preview of their upcoming album.

All their songs are profound, but this one takes you further down the rabbit hole, calling on the masses to get ready for the internal and external war. This is the new air raid siren, the television broadcast message at the end of the evening. Who wants CBS or BBC, when this is the message we all need to hear right now?

Though sparse, the lyrics explain that pain is necessary for healing, and symbiotic; one has to push through barriers and limitations in their environment whilst pushing through the barriers we have in our minds. Only by addressing both simultaneously, one can journey through the wonderland without fear keeping you in the same place.

I dare anyone to listen to this, and not want to dance, shake off all the self-doubt and criticism and feel just that little bit lighter at the end. If this is this a taste of what we have to look forward to, when their album is released, who cares if the cake makes you bigger or smaller?

All we know is that we want more wonder...in the land of The Blinders.
