Camden Assembly: Spotlight Shows

Popular grassroots venue Camden Assembly and Ticketmaster have teamed up to put a month long series of showcases, featuring some of the hottest new artists that they believe will be big in 2018!] These free gigs will aim to give a ‘Spotlight’ to a huge number of names, across a variety of genres. There’s something for everyone at these shows, here are our top 3 personal picks to go and watch:
This Rose – Friday 12th January
A fusion of some truly talented musicians saw the creation of This Rose in 2017. Although they haven’t been going for long, this band is a band like no other and have gone from strength to strengths, creating a new sound that will have you dancing and will definitely bring some energy to your night. A self-proclaimed DIY indie band, these guys create a groovy sound, merging old school disco beats with modern day production, and some radiant vocals.
looms. – Friday 26th January
An up and coming lo-fi hip-hop artist, it’s fair to say that looms.’ style of music isn’t mainstream, but becoming a mainstream artist isn’t part of his agenda. Charismatic and talented, looms.’ flowing vibes and intricate lyrics will make you think, make you feel and will introduce you to a whole new genre of music that’s just waiting to be explored. Throughout his two years active he has accumulated a supportive fan base and is definitely putting his mark on the underground lo-fi scene.
The Wholls – Tuesday 30th January
The only way is up for Alt-rock band The Wholls have already had a huge 2017, playing sets at some classic festivals including Reading and Leeds and Y Not and will be going on to even more success in 2018. For fans of 2006 Arctic Monkeys or even The Cribs, this band are continuing to keeping guitar music alive, and with their catchy, smooth music, The Wholls are definitely one to look out for.
