The fabulous quintet from Doncaster are certainly making a name for themselves very quickly! They know where they are going and are definitely determined to get there. The band are managed by Rachel Brown/Northern Exposure, have recently done a live recording of their track 'In Control' and have an upcoming gig in Sheffield raising money for 'Musicians Against Homelessness'. I was fortunate,to be able to have a quick chat with the band in between that rather busy schedule!!

Evening lads! What would you say is your biggest motivation to keep making music?

Matt: I'd say our biggest motivation is the reaction we get from people who listen to our music, when someone tells you a song you wrote means something to them. That's one of the best feelings in the world!

What message would you give to your 17 year old selves?

M: Buy every Beatles album now instead of in 3 years! And get your head down learning your craft, no ones gonna serve it to you, you've gotta go and get it.

Yeah I completely agree. Having silly shows like X Factor send out the wrong message about hard grafting. What is coming up for you that you're geared up about?

M: Couldn't agree more with the X Factor comment! Giving kids the message that waiting in line for hours at the leisure centre to be judged by millionaires is the way to become an artist.

Jordan: We’ve recently recorded a single (The Right Thing) along with a video, it's due to be released in January and we're buzzing for everyone to hear it.

What's one thing you've watched on TV this year that you'd highly recommend?

M: We've lost hours to 'Stranger Things'. Well into that!

Same here! I had to watch season 2 twice, totally blew my mind! Hope they do one more. Superb acting. What is one goal you have in mind that you want to reach next year?

M: It's just next level! We're really keen to get onto some good festivals, I can't wait to have huge crowds experience our songs with us.

What's your funniest memory among you, so far this year?

M: We're constantly pissing ourselves laughing so we'd be here all night trying to narrow it down to just one (And most of them the public aren't ready for!)

I can imagine! Well combined with your talent and great management, no doubt you'll be doing at least 1 or 2 festivals next year! So, who would you love to collaborate or tour with ideally?

Jordan: We'd love to tour with The Twang as we're massive fans of theirs and we spent our formative years listening to them. Plus I reckon they might be able to keep up with us after gigs.

What new bands have you discovered this year, and really gotten into?

M: We recently got into PLANET, Hockey Dad are cool too. They’ve both got a DMA's vibe about them.

I think it's surreal, but very cool if you get to meet or work with someone that was influential while growing up. What's your personal highlight of the year so far?

M: Starting to work with Northern Exposure management without a shadow of a doubt! It's starting to grow since we started with them so we're very excited for the future!

The most ridiculous, but funny thing you've read or heard this year?

M: Noel Gallagher trying to justify his cape wearing scissors player on Jools Holland! No contest!

Catch out what The Kavaliers are up to here!

Check out what our friends Northern Exposure are getting involved in too!
