STICKY - An Introduction.

In todays current new wave of alternative music there is extreme excitement and consistent talent. It may sound quite presumptuous or even (Really?) for me to say Sticky are probably one of the best bands I have seen all year. They do exactly what it says on the tin and you will be stuck to them immediately!

A gobsmacking kaleidoscope of full on down to the bone rhythms and super ‘The Brother Ship has landed’ P-Funk energy. They exude the excitement of a first Ian Dury or George Clinton gig hence my new term FUNKSTER PUNKADELICS and this being very much at the forefront with their bold and banging tune “Set Sail (Blank Kids)” Live @ Granny’s House.

Their intelligence in understanding funk music shows clearly through their performance allowing us to be thrown beautiful blows of throbbing revved up guitar flows and thumping pounding drums. Trevor Harley Halliwell - front man extraordinaire! - is on vocals and guitar, Archie Owen with his mind blowing guitar, Geraint Friswell phenomenal bass guitar and Percy Mackay is a power house on drums.

These funk – punkster rebels will take you on a journey that leaves one quite satisfyingly entertained and musically in awe. It is hard to believe they do not use peddles! They hit it hard with their writing and poly rhythms and there is not one inch of sloppiness even when the tin is cracked open!

Part of the Bin Weasel Ltd. music collective, this diverse foursome are on it when it comes to understanding the music business. They are very aware of the political and social climates we live in and they really hold the torch for a young on it band. They have a fierce sound that allows them to dive into a rich pool of subliminal and diverse music.

I cannot wait to hear the new Sticky Single “Spread Eagle” due for release on the 16th January. On the 31st October Trevor will be releasing his own EP “Big Day” and check out JW Single “Pig” Below!

All of these multi talented gents have lots of sticky fingers in pies! Check out the link and quite frankly SPREAD THE WORD!
