'Sons' and 'The Kut' at The Black Heart
So it was my first visit to the Black Heart in Camden with Zine photographer Jeff Moh. He told me to come and check out ‘The Kut’ and that’s exactly what I did (thanks for the tip off Jeff!!). The Black Heart is a super cool venue that makes you feel like you're in a hidden loft space.
One of my favourite bands ‘Sons’ were the first act and although they seemed to be having some sound issues on their side from our side they were on brilliant form. Lee and Nick never fail to disappoint and it’s no wonder they recently played the ‘This Feeling’ stage at Reading Festival. Well deserved chaps Oh and thanks for the T-Shirt!
Drum roll please…….. A rainbow of colours hit the stage in the form of three super cool chicks ‘The Kut’. I’m already mesmerised by their drummer Diana who bangs away flawlessly but dirty too! Bass guitarist Stella plays in a risqué way that adds oomph to each of their songs.
Lead singer Maha tantalises us with her vocals in a revolutionary way.
Their energy exudes like a huge ball of fire and considering they had just come back from a long tour around Europe, their stamina was not to be reckoned with. Loyal fans were transfixed and I noticed several leather jackets with their logo dancing away to every song.
The audience became putty in their hands and we left this den of iniquity feeling dizzy, sweaty, tipsy and fully loaded with great music from two ultimate bands.
