The Wild Things At The Lexington

A truly sensational band came onto the stage last Thursday at The Lexington 'The Wild Things'. After a great opening set by Andrew King (check out our review of that, here!). This concoction of excellence is in the form of lead and sassy singer Sydney along with her brother Cameron on bass guitar, her husband Rob on Lead guitar and Pete on meaty drums.

They are based in both London and LA and along with their transatlatic collective fan base they have a following in New York City too.

Sydney has a mesmerising and gushing voice and as she bounced on stage in her bunny dungarees (apparently worn at her wedding too!) she took full reign as front woman. We are truly surprised with amazing acoustic sets, booming drums and dynamic guitarmanship from both men. Boiler suits and swaying hair move deliciously with slide guitar.

Songs that came exceptionally to my attention were 'Loaded Gun' Sydney's voice is provactive and intoxicating with beautiful acoustics.

'F.I.A' fast and playful this song releases different tempos that shine and make it musically adventurous.

They are a power house and we were all swaying to every song!

This band gels perfectly together and you can feel the faint hints of Joni Mitchell, The Beach Boys and The Who. They all bring something dynamic to the plate and you'll be licking that plate for more. They will be recording an album soon and there are some exciting projects in the pipeline coming up later in the year. They work very closely with the charity 'Solace' who help shelter women who have experienced domestic violence and they will be involved in a event at The O2 in Islington in November.
