More? Well, we can not lie. We (various members of TheZineUK collective) ARE obsessed with a variety show of talents, between us. The ones with world wide love potential that time travel your heart and mind to eternal teenage. The ones with something to say. The ones that look like pop stars because passion twinkles out of them. Our tastes weave into each other and the names are breaking out all over the place so we're not alone in believing. It's largely down to the songs:

'Strange Medicine' by 485C is a heart slapping, foot tapping, head nodding, hip shaking, croon topped, honey harmonied singalong, rock n roll groove that audibly climbs. And bites; “Kill me, I'm already dying.” It's the band's second release, and consolidates the highly encouraging start with which they introduced themselves. Autumn's debut, 'She'll Lie' picked up BBC Radio 6 support from Steve Lamacq, before release and his enthusiasm has only grown, alongside other music guru types including John Kennedy of Radio X who has not only showcased them at his best bands Remedy night, but invited them back on 20th January.

'Strange Medicine' is deservedly picking up cool radio air time, again, and the band have already been played on TV's Soccer AM. It is coupled lwith 'American Walls', an urgent two minutes of newer wave that springs at you with buzzing bass lines, “dance-you-bastard” beats, and guitars that singalong with vocals that veer between soulful and sneering.

Within a year of becoming the fab five 485C, last Spring, the youthful intensity of this Essex / East End rock force is on a roll. They are stunning live. It's the audiences that are saying so. The landmark events, new music festival stages and promoters – including award winners like This Feeling and Juicebox - have been booking them. 2017 is the Guitar Band Spring Year starring the bands in the vanguard of the new.

Cherubic faced but punk hearted, 485C are worth facing the stage for. Dynamic, un-hinged, riot pop fury, layered riffs and licks fight and unite over a truly driving rhythm section. Their stage presence (visually, a joy injecting, five headed fit), is enhanced by having a commanding front man in their gang, this is how Classic Rock rolls next.

It doesn't matter that this is the beginning of their tale. Whatever that illusive "IT" is, 485C already have in mountain loads.

There are elements of alternative pop groups that people obsess over, from The Strokes to The Smiths. But this really is something fresh. People will sound like 485C one day.

As for all the "heard it all before types", you're wrong. You couldn't have, because this is the first time in history that creative youth has to survive 21st century dystopia. An antidote to autotuned distance, 485C are inclusive and addictive in their own right.

Anybody can make this band their own creative muse.

Uncynical ART, with an intellectual and thought provoked attitude; 485C (the name is a Pantone colour chart red), reveal new layers of poetic depth with every song played, released and/or performed.

Unassuming off stage, fiercely lost in performance, 485C are an authentic, charismatic enigma raised far from the clique n hipster zones. Hell, there are hardly any candid images of them doing the rounds, yet.

As per this page, they are all snap shots from gigs. Don't think that TheZineUK won't be continuing this story, following this band, Attenborough style, trying to get THAT elusive shot!

Stay tuned then. Joining their story is a genuine invitation. What happens next? The band positively encourage creating art of any kind.

Rory McGowan (guitar/bvs), Adam Hume (vocals), Lucas Hunt (drums), Dom Watson (guitar/vocals), Sam Watkins (bass/bvs), and Us All (dance floor moves). See you, down the front, soon, then? #485C
