'I Don't Mind', say THE VELVET HANDS
Tunes, Views, Heart n Soul. Youth, Art, Rock n Roll.
UK and USA music fans are digging The Velvet Hands who release new single, 'I Don't Mind' on 3rd February for Easy Action Records. Pic by Brian Robinson, left to right; Dan Able, Sam Hilder, Louis Willbourne and Toby Mitchell are a punky garage rock band, with elements of classic potential. The single has already been played and praised by BBC London's Gary Crowley, and gained ace feedback, widely. It's an urgent, catchy, earworm that pop fandom is made of.
The Velvet Hands' first year in the public ear was a raging storm of noisy fun, new friends and musical gang adventures. They also made a definite mark on 2016, selling all 300 of their 7"s on Record Store Day in spring, playing Tate Gallery in autumn and wowing the summer festivals ("frankly awesome", BBC Introducing) while gaining over 7.7k YouTube views, 3.3k Facebook and Twitter followers and some frankly awe inducing reviews. A promising start for a stylish, but personable, teen quartet with hooky, story telling anthems pouring out of them. Their exciting, fresh faced, composition based, fab-ness is grounded by work hard and fuelled by belief.
In November The Velvet Hands appeared at the UK's landmark live rock n roll club, This Feeling. (see our live video bootleg of 'I Don't Mind' ). Their first South London show was greeted with vociferous approval. They then played two year-end shows in Cornwall (doing their sound, was legendary producer John Cornfield (The Stone Roses, Muse, Robert Planet, The Bluetones, Supergrass etc)!
