With ‘Tracks Of (barbed, not Barbie dolls) Wire’, deux furieuses rule.

One of Britain’s great rock star bands that are not a household name (well, they are, in our household) are deux furieuses, who have earned spluttering superlatives of awe for their music, from those in the know. Comparisons for their thunderous tunes (and I paraphrase here, from recent memory) include “Royal Blood for the thinking music fan”, “surpass Savages in 4 minutes". These are both great bands to be compared to, but it’s deux furieuses that are the full package for myself, and others. Spitting out fury that will delight any fellow Manics fans, too, this is a band for the rock music obsessed, feminists of any gender and generation and/or passionate poetic souls seeking a band to believe in. Don’t take my/anybody's word for it. See and hear here!

As respect rises on the horizon for the likes of Clit Rock events (first deux furieuses live experience!), Loud Women, Queercore bands (and that half of the population that are the mothership of all human beings, in general i.e. females), so the future becomes increasingly unwritten. Yeah, Apple Music recently noted that "women are joining the indie thing". (1) wow. (2) fuck off. Our Uniqulture movement (peace and unity waged by multi talents) which deux furieuses are part of, has diversity in its DNA, so you can shove your glass ceiling up your Trump hole cos here come ALL the riot grrrls - and this is one of our ICON sounds. Every live show that deux furieuses play, creates new believers.

2016, and The Music Force Awakens. 'Tracks Of Wire' is the aural equivalent of a giant elastic band being pulled back just that little bit more with every new fan, each glowing review, all the shrieks of “yeeeah” in the applause at the gigs. You possibly don’t know how much you need bands like this right now, but they are the antidote soundtracks of 21st century horrorism.

DIY is proving itself an essential movement. Skint, world class talents, collaborate and co promote where the support of many major record label departments no longer exist. This year, deux furieuses have been a band of choice to join Little Death Machine’s art exhibition of an EP launch, essential stars of the ArtBeatfest new music expo and when they launched ‘Tracks Of Wire’ with a Blindness finale co-headline, London's Lexington was PACKED, on a Sunday evening, by word of mouth. It was an extended family gathering of DIY future cottage industry makers and perception-shakers.

Music guru/music fanatic, John Kennedy of Radio X has remained a part of this amazing support with deux furieuses supporting Asylums at The Remedy, his monthly free entry best buzz bands bash in Tooting, Sarf London this January. Then Ros & Vas found themselves doing a live studio session in April for him.

London show alert! Click here for the ticket link for their show with Asylums (whose 'Killer Brain Waves' is another 10/10 album in TheZineUK opinion) and Man & The Echo on 28th July. For John Kennedy!!! Again. WooHOO! Doors are at 7.30pm so aim to arrive at 7pm, get down the front nice n early and you will not be disappointed, this is a genuine recommendation if you’ve not caught deux furieuses before! If you miss this gig, then follow the band on facebook because you can be part of their UK tour, which is through to Round 2 of PRS funding; facebook.com/deuxfurieuses/

You’re welcome.
