Soundcheck. Whitechapel, London. April 2016 by Caffy St Luce.

This video was made at the band's first London headline - an intimate, packed and rowdy live session at The Urban Bar. The Velvet Hands were celebrating their Record Store Day release, 'Trains' / 'Curtains Closed' (Easy Action Records) which sold out of it's limited 300 x 7” vinyl copies, on the day.

Impressed by their sound and momentum since introducing themselves with DIY release 'Games' / 'Who Cares' in Autumn 2015, we invited the band to join our party, and are thrilled that they did. TheZineUK is a collective of performers and creators in a situationist story of underground arts movement. Music friends recommend their favourites, then gather at this travelling circus of occasional, affordable and socially inclusive events.

Gearing up for The Velvet Hands debut London headline.

Our so far proven runway of rising profiles is creating a parallel industry with exciting new film makers, writers and photographers involved. A few days after this chaotic and charismatic appearance, The Velvet Hands found their song 'Trains' being played by Steve Lamacq on his BBC Radio 6 Music radio show. Their obvious potential, even this early, continues to shine, and grow.

This track, 'Habit', released Spring 2016 on JamX Recordings, appears on the Easy Action Records compilation 'Cornwall Calling 2' due for release in July. Additionally, Toby Mitchell (Lead Vocals / Guitar), Dan Able (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Louis Willbourne (Drums / Backing Vocals) and Sean Nichols (Bass) have been snapped up for various music Festivals this summer. A new single and tour dates are due for this Autumn. Stay tuned for fuller news.

Thank you everybody that came to get wild wild wild with a favourite new band.
