#TGE16 @AltEscape funs

Well that was great fun. Spent a lot of all three years of The Great Escape Festival visits at End Of The Trail Records, always catching future tips way in advance. Just a few examples including a seminal Hyena (who also played our own stage that year) in 2014. They kicked off this year as one of This Feeling Club's #BigIn2016 bands and have picked up cool management etc. Spears (looking fresh outta detention!) last year before hitting all kinda radio play and press acclaim this year (and our own ArtBeatFest New Music Expo) and Pink Cigar who went on to start 2016 as Forkster's No1 of 100 Rock Bands Of 2015 and are already invited to national and international festivity, perfect for #Punk40 year (which TheZineUK is also officially part of. We ain't got five million quid's worth of clobber to burn because The Queen approves. If we did, the camps at Calais would be better dressed. Best idea we've heard for it).

Anyway, back to real life. 2016 was another whirl. Lack of sleep since Tuesday night, meant hitting a brick wall of energy on Thursday afternoon which was cured by a couple of pints with the SONS posse (see Chapter 9 for pix n links to videos), who didn't get to play their Great Escape Festival slot this year due to some violent wanker. Hey, Karma... please, thank you. And, ta dah! Sons are only gonna be playing Camden Rocks in June! Woohoo!

Rounded off the Alternative Escape evening by getting a second wind and a half at Bar Rogue where Asylums massive tunes and tractor beam of a live show were holding us delighted prisoners of rock n roll!

Image: 485C played their first official gig with #ArtBeatFest at the start of April, then on Wednesday 18th May got their first airplay from Steve Lamacq spinning "She'll Lie" on BBC Radio 6 Music - and started a facebook page https//facebook.com/485Cband/ - before making their festival debut at #TGE16 on Thursday 19th May. That really is hitting the ground running...
