The Great Escape, the greatest caper

The weekend starting Thursday 19th May 2016 is the biggest new music festival in the land. Described as the UK's answer to SXSW, The Great Escape becomes a musician soaked seaside holiday of the alternative kind. International gathering including Stormzy, Black Honey, Blossoms, Vant, Declan McKenna, White Room etc. The best scout n catch event of the year is the @AltEscape where you can literally see the most select artists, live on stage for free entry and without a wristband. As the industry supported artists are mainly at #TGE16 wrist banded events, the ones there for the taking and future potential are at these shows.

TheZineUK are chuffed to be in Brighton for the third May running. In 2014, thanks to End Of The Trail Records, our road show called into @AltEscape. 2 minute silent movie of 2014. The calibrie of thos musicians won as a return invite from the festival, where our next bill smashed it, again. 2 minute not at all silent movie from 2015 by film maker Giedre Padvaiskaite (additionally, this week, Saint Agnes just floored Central London, headlining the Time Out Mag'se best new bands event. The rest of that bill also went on to Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, label offers etc. Pix from both years are in our story book. Watch artists from this year's events fly, also.

For 2016 we connect with Southcoast Recordings the exciting new independent on Thursday 19th May click the event for updated stage times & bill (this label has snapped up The Au Revoirs already, and recently staged #LostWeekend (artists, labels, venues, crowd, promoters + a barber! - united) with ourselves and End Of The Trail Records who we ally with, on Friday 20th click the event for updated stage times). The creative force is strong in these independents.

Top of the Alt Escape's Page, It's all happening at East Street Tap, 75 East Street, BN1 1HQ from noon daily. Between sets we'll be upstairs, where there is a social space for chatting, meeting, blogging (and with wifi, uploading media) so please do come say hi.

Alongside these already acclaimed tips (so will be SUCH a buzz) are 100s more. Everybody creates their own weekend.
