Sisteray - Louder (and better) Than War

Headline Show - 3 December Camden Black Heart

Alt punk outfit, Sisteray, are not so much “emerging” as bursting out with tuneful attitude. “Where are all the bands with something to say?” say articles written by people who are not in the threatened grassroots music venue circuit, that they are currently setting alight. Live On Stage.

Escapism from Psychopaths fuelling Armageddon for money, December is foreplay for a punky, rocking 2016. On Thursday, 3rd of the month, Sisteray grace Camden Black Heart, the best way; noisily. It's their biggest headline of the year. The line-up's special guests actually ARE special: Bulletproof Bomb and Lighthouse are fresh, respectively, from playing Reading Festival and supporting The Rifles.

A trio of buzzing bands together in one of London's mover shaker hub venues. What's not to love for the expanding gang Newer Wave artists and audiences? This show has had more promoting by Sisteray than Jeremy Corbyn's has had lies told about him in the pretend “press”. Social media has invitations to be at this gig, all over it. Every music promoter worth their salt should book them for their prime events, at landmark venues and festival slots on the strength of this DIY-Booking Agenting, alone, but in fact, since forming in 2013, this is what Sisteray have been making happen for themselves with catchy songs, performance energy, driving ambition and infectious attitude. Its an on and off stage thing, accompanied by a mightier than the sword, word spitting blog.

Actually sociable as well as social. We met some of the band while we were slightly over drinking at an excellent night out (Trampolene) just a month before. Like a modern day Clash, Sisteray give the time of day to artists and audiences alike. They sure are out a lot and are part of the cottage industry of support flyering (double sided with Trampolene who play Nambucca on 16th December) at select shows. They talk about the flyering and peers experience, articulately, here.

This Black Heart headline rounds off a year that includes a swelling radio airplay support and press kit, credible supports, key live events (including part of the nationwide 'We Will Overcome' shows for local food banks in October), fun at SoccerSixFest and recording with Rory Attwell (Palma Violets, The Vaccines). They even got their CD accepted, on stage, by Pete Doherty at The Libertines secret gig.

That earworm eccentric tinged Brit sound runs through their veins.

Sure The Zine goes off on some hippy tangents on our situationist trip, but not only will 3rd December 2015 be three years after Mercury, Venus and Saturn aligned with the Pyramids of Gia for the first time in 2,737 years, it also heralds the planets aligning later this month like something out of a Marvel movie. What a time to be a punk! Anything can happen and music is a poetic power for those able to think for themselves. Are you ready to rock? Then, ‪#‎WelcomeToTheMonkeyHouse‬
