Houdini Dax Found Love In The Dole Office!

Well, here is a tune for the Austerity Age that would not sound out of place on day time radio play lists; 'Found Love In The Dole Office' is a sharp slice of alt pop guitarred tunery from Cardiff outfit, Houdini Dax, released 27th November. (Click here to hear!)

For a nation where, sadly, most people know what the phrase "sign on" means, this is an upbeat antidote to those skint-again blues. If there is any justice this song will get on the radio (or at least get played loads at The Job Centre - where, funnily enough, I was enjoying live music at the weekend) but maybe its too good sounding for it's own good...

Talking of good, on 11th December, Houdini Dax (snap shot from earlier this year when they played Music Week Rising in Camden with Mourning Birds), will support refugee music collective, Stone Flowers at Manchester Club Acadamy.

It is a fund raiser in aid of the charity, Music Action International (MAI), which is based in Manchester and supports individuals and communities devastated armed conflict and war.

Fresh from Swn Festival earlier this month, Houdini Dax round off a great year - whicih includes their album, Naughty Nation (from which 'Found Love In The Dole Office' is taken) being nominated for a Welsh Music Prize - with a home town show at Clwb Ifor Bach on 18th December.
