Play Expo, Manchester Event City, October 2015

This was my 3rd year attending the Manchester Play Expo at Event City and i’ve seen it evolve over the years into one of largest game expo's in the UK.

It’s always a highlight for me and something i look forward to every year, it's a living, breathing, video game arcade showcasing retro arcade machines, pinball machines and all the latest tech from indie game developers alongside triple-A titles such as Dark Souls 3 which was exclusively available to play at this years event.

Not only do they have the gaming side of things covered you might find yourself bumping into the odd Jedi that’s if they’re not been kept in check by Star Wars very own Darth Vader (Dave Prowse) who was available for photos and autographs.

Cosplay plays a big part in the event over the weekend, I’m sure i spotted Batman having a chat with Deadpool? The cosplay shows and competitions on both days are a fantastic, some serious hard work goes into these costumes.

One of my favourite parts of Play Expo is getting to try the latest Indie games, not only play but chat with the developers and share the experince alongside other gamers. Amongst many other titles I had the opportunity to play Gang Beasts & Friendship Club both are brilliant multiplayer games which are available on Steam.

If that’s not enough to fill your boots! You can fill up on all your film & gaming loot from one of the many vendors they also have an eduction area where you can chat and learn about 3D printing, programming robots and information is on hand so you can start your journey in creating your very own indie game!

To cut a long story short…..Play expo is gaming heaven! I’m already looking forward to next year!
