SoccerSixFest celebrates the 20th anniversary year of the globally reknown Celebrity Football and Live Music event. Alongside the rock n rollers, a plethora of TV stars from the likes of Game Of Thrones, The X Factor, and, most fittingly for Mile End, Max Branning from Walford (a.k.a. actor, Jake Wood of Eastenders).

This huge event, hosted by Cup.UK, was borne out of a desire to celebrate Soccer Six’s music industry roots and also in response to numerous requests from bands ,themselves. These events are a convention of talent having fun playing together. An insight into what its all about is another of Cup.UK’s brands; Lovefootball. a celebration transcending race, religion, nationality, age, ability and gender. This is what makes it's best known brand, Soccer Six, such a major convention on the music and celebrity calendar.

It's an absolute coup – Soccer Six getting The Darkness on the pitch! Their low key appearance at Download Festival totally WON (with a thirty rows deep crowd, mad for it, outside the tent!) The new album 'Last Of Our Kind' went Top 12 in June with Classic Rock Magazine noting that “they’ve only gone and made their finest album since Permission To Land”). The title track is released on 21st August, just before they're on the pitch at Mile End Stadium. Possibly not wearing this kit! (image' Simon Emmett trunks)

Their November/December UK tour (ticket and info link) is one of this year's Must Have Tickets because The Darkness truly are a national rock music treasure. 2015 is already looking "back of the net" for Soccer Six! Since beginning in 1995, the event has grown to become the world's biggest celebrity football tournament. Frequently staged across the UK at prestigious stadiums, with over 200 well known faces at each event (so far including Oasis, Robbie Williams, Olly Murs, Russell Howard, Jude Law, Rod Stewart, JLS, Iron Maiden, Blur, Rachel Riley and Kasabian to name but a few.

Its also where stars rub shoulders with music's most up and coming, on and off the pitch. Playhard snapped folky rollers, Morrissey & Marshall, in 2012 event (Leyton Orient FC) a year after they formed. By 2015 they are no strangers to major festivals, TV appearances and high profile supports at venues like Shepherds Bush Empire and The Barbican. Their debut album, ''And So It Began' is as much a prediction as it is a classic. Be warned, these lads put up a premiere fight on the pitch!

Eastenders, Dexters, are quite literally going to be back on home turf! As a band they've come on an adventurous musical journey, since forming in pre-hipster Hoxton and this is their biggest year to date. New single ‘Stay Strange’ is released on 18th September from their second album ‘We Paid For Blood’ (25th September Acid Jazz Records). It's about the journey we're all taking right now in 2015. As the band say;

"There's a message, there's a social conscience, reacting to the shit that's happening around us. We love music, being on tour, playing to our fans (and meeting new ones), getting away from the boring side of life; shit jobs, no money, life is hard. This is escapism, it's fun, it's rock n roll”.

Sunday 6th September certainly will be!
