Red Cable Sunday - Relentlessly Waging Peace

"Campaigns for peace are needed now more than ever." Red Cable Sunday Wages Relentless Unity and Equality With Action, and Cinematic Piano Pop: 23rd July – live at Party For Peace, London (FB Event) and Autumn 2015 new single release; 'Relentless'.

Every day should be Red Cable Sunday - the music project of Denis Fernando, a graduate of Goldsmiths College and long time political activist. RCS releases music that is centred around the piano but which takes influence from sources as diverse as Gershwin, Cinema Soundtrack and Ben Folds.

Denis has been a founder of Uniqulture and all things DIY Culture in South London and beyond for over a decade. He recently played the 'Love Music Hate UKIP' fundraiser at New Cross Inn.

A live performer, Denis is also a recorded artist. His debut single, 'Prelude To The Nocturne' was featured on OTV Music Channel and BBC aired on Radio 2 (Melodies For You) and Radio 3 (The Late Junction), with the video getting thousands of plays. This led to spots at City Showcase and Spitalfields Music Festival. The essential oxygene of exposure helped him find new audiences and supporters.

So when he crowd-funded a video for his next release – 'Relentless' – this year, he reached his target in advance. Not just at home in Britain. The people of the world are on side. Support came from The Netherlands, New Zealand, Brazil, Turkey, Germany, Canada, France and the United States. The most financial support he has ever received, and it kept coming.

'Relentless' takes more of a pop music direction and features Denis' vocal debut. He says: "I was overwhelmed by the love and support of people who pledged towards my new track. Crowdfunding has opened up a world of possibilities for emerging and DIY artists like myself, as we can pitch for an idea which either flies or dies depending on how many people believe in it and invest in it."

A favourite face at people powered gatherings, Denis appears at the North London 'Stop The War' Coalitiion fund raiser which features live music, poetry and DJ Sets at Passing Clouds in Dalston. He says "Im really looking forward to playing. We are being told we cannot afford schools and hospitals yet we are spending billions on weapons. Campaigns for peace are needed now more than ever."
