Y Not Festival 2015

The 10th Y Not Festival - 31st July to 2nd August, England.

Y Not has come a long way since it started in 2006 and always lives up-to it’s motto “small, fresh and loud”. It may me be a smaller festival, but it definitely gives the larger events a run for their money.

This year's festivities keep in trend with last years line-up which included hip hop legends De La Soul (pictured).

I never thought i would see the day that Snoop Dogg would be gracing the Peak District with his presence. As if that’s not enough to fill your boots, Basement Jaxx will be headlining Saturday night followed by Primal Scream on Sunday.

It’s not just about the big hitters. Y Not really does cater for all tastes, I’ve always been a fan of The Quarry stage which has an equally strong line-up including Less Than Jake, We are Scientists and Nick Mulvey.Once again Y Not always offers an eclectic taste of music and in the festivals own words; “The Quarry - No genre distinction, just awesome.” I Have to agree 100%, Y Not you’re awesome!

(Pictured: Chloe Howl at Y Not 2014). To get the full Y Not experience you should take a peak into the Giant Squid tent for something a little heavier with the likes of Pulled Apart By Horses, Don Bronco and Lower than Atlantis. My personal favourites are Sheffield's Rolo Tomassi - or discover something new at The Allotment stage for unsigned and emerging talent (including Saturday night headliners, The Sherlocks , who were #futurepicks of TheZineUK earlier this year)

Images; Revelling on (Catfish & The Bottlemen) and off stage last year.

Still organised by the same small team of passionate enthusiasts, Y Not Festival has grown organically since a gathering of young people attended an overspilling house party.

It retains that original good-time vibe. Fancy dress included. “

There is almost too much to mention when it comes to Y Not.

Without stating the obvious late night shenanigans and epic amount of food stalls, bars and even a roller disco thrown in for good measure.

Here's to Y Not 2015, and what promises to be another great milestone for this jewel of an event.

With a medley of hand picked talent including new unmissables, The Bohicas, Super Furry Animals, Reverend And The Makers, entertainers extraordinaire, Lancashire Hot Pots, The Strypes, Pete Kosonavich, Feeder front man Grant Nicholas and UK festival rockers of the moment, Slaves, on the bill, why not Y Not?

If you don’t come for something you already love, you will find something new to love.” (Y Not Festival)
