Invitation to The Zine Music Social, 19th June 2015, London
You never know. A social gathering in New Cross, South London, may change your future.
Its the next chapter in our underground movement's tale. As ever, the entertainment has been lovingly hand picked for potential and entertainment.
We want everybody in the place to have a good time.
We will be at Amersham Arms for the afternoon anyway, then back bar venue doors are 7pm-11pm for the show, followed by Whip It! club - stay in and afterparty until 3am if you like.
Come early for the conversations, fruit n cake sharing ('tis an ArtBeat homecoming), flyering exchanges, some open mic from The Zine Team (we don't shy away from being politically charged, especially the day before the big anti-austerity protest) but especially to catch Mercy Giants live on stage. We are very excited at getting one of their early doors shows. Be here to find out more...
Word up. Literally. Firm Cult are the hip hop outfit living up to their name, within a month of their live debut. The force is strong in this youthful collective. Zara hail from this locality and purvey dark, enigmatic dynamics with newer waved Bowie/Numan influences. Fur Cough have a magnetic alt rock sound with ARTitude. The foursome are making a name for themselves and headlined the launch of the uniqulture travelling circus which left a wake of glorious, situationist chaos in its wake.
For such a cool live bill, our special guest DJ, Gordon Raphael, is perfect.
A reknown music and art multi talent in his own right, we are honoured to have him come and hang out with us (again) and soundtrack the evening between and after the live sets.
Sandwiched between The Strokes gig on Thursday 18th June 2015 (show your wrist band from the gig to get in for £3) and the Anti-Austerity march on Saturday the 20th is a big rock n roll Friday night out on a shoe string. Facebook event is here for natters, links, videos etc.
Gonna leave this page with a giggle at these lovely few seconds of our Arts Editor, Chenaii, having a fan girl moment...
Let's make more magic on 19th June. Coming?
